Teens (13 to 17 Years)
How can someone in these situations get help?
No one is in this alone.
Telling someone can be the first step to making the violence stop. If there is violence at home, then it is important to find people you trust who you can talk to.
Here’s what you can do:
Make sure you are safe. If you feel like you are in danger, call 911 and speak to the Police.
Talk to a close friend who can support you.
Write it down in a letter or email if you find it too difficult to say out loud.
If you are physically hurt or are concerned about pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections, you should visit your doctor./li>
Don’t give up. Keep trying until you get the support your need.
Need support with getting help?
Talk to a trusted adult like a grandparent, school counsellor, a friend’s parent, teacher, doctor.
You can also click the 'Let’s Chat’ button at the top of the page to speak with a trained Kids Helpline volunteer and get support finding resources available to you. We're here to listen, believe you, and help you find resources to get support and stay safe.
